Get some villagers started on the town center, but I also recommend building a castle nearby to defend it and pump out more troops. Once you've landing, your objectives will change to establishing a camp with a market and twelve houses. Here on Greenland, if you annihilate the enemy castles and kill their villagers, the remaining Vikings will turn ally (meaning you can use their markets for trading and you'll get the rest of the map scouted out), but if you don't want to bother, just cut a path west through them to reach a spot to build docks to run some villagers and your troops over to the New World. In the very corner of the map, there's a friendly penguin, whom encountering leads to an achievement: Destroying the markets will get you the gold you need to upgrade to the Castle Age and build a fleet to escort your troops west to Greenland. Remember that you can upgrade your infantry attack and armor before you assault the enemy base. Beware that a hero wolf unit will attack you at some point. You're going to want to advance to the Feudal Age and build a few cheap trash units (spearmen, so you don't waste your gold) to accompany you on the raiding of the blue British to the southwest. Fishing ships and hunting will be necessary given the limited amount of food that's available to you.

So start off by building up your economy. To get there, you're going to need to travel overland to Greenland. Why not just sail right over there, you say? Because the ocean will destroy your ship, that's why. This mission has you needing to send Erik the Red to the Americas and establish a colony. Once the wonder is constructed, you're done.Īs your first victory with the Vikings, you'll be awarded: Building your own gates to replace the destroyed ones and putting castles in place will protect your workers. York is heavily fortified, but it's just to the southeast of you, and I recommend going for the wonder since gathering all the relics, accumulating all that gold, or outright destroying so many enemies in a massive map like this is a headache (you don't need to defend it, just construct it.) Trebuchets will make short work of the fortifications make sure once you've cleared out the castles you destroy the production buildings.

After establishing the town and your longboat armada arrives, you are given a dizzying array of objectives: you can sit back and accumulate gold to win, control all the relics, build a wonder in York, etc. I recommend the flagged area to the northwest. As you start this mission, you need to find a place to land your troops and start a town.
